Pleasure of Becoming

2026
Lisa Sette Gallery

As I approach my 50th year and step out of a 25-year marriage, I find myself at a profound threshold personally and artistically. With my children now in their teens, my life is unfolding in unexpected and deeply embodied ways, and my work is shifting alongside it. Inspired by the flower and garden paintings of Gustav Klimt, where ornament and nature dissolve into immersive fields of devotion, I use pattern and luminosity to explore the body as landscape, lush, sovereign, and alive. This new body of work is my reveal: not a departure from my past, but an emergence into fuller presence, pleasure, and self-possession.
